Top 1000 Bands #810-#801

810 - The Melvins - One of the bridge bands between 80's metal (the good kind) and grunge, The Melvins had a few truly great songs, but were mostly significant for the inspiration they'd provide for much better bands down the road.

809 - The Zutons - An indie band that's had a few solid albums to their credit so far.

808 - Grand National - An outstanding indie band that will go way up the next time I put this list together, as I've found a lot more about this great new band.

807 - Cat Power - The critical darling of indie folk at the moment, Cat Power has quite a few great songs strung out on a handful of solid albums.

806 - Band Of Horses - BOH got this ranking mostly based on their first album, particularly the minor indie hit "The Funeral". Based on their second album, which is even better, they'll be going way up in the future.

805 - The Pogues - A legendary Irish band from the 80's, the Pogues have never been my favorite, but they have more than a few great songs.

804 - The Subways - A fairly new punk band I heard about in Blender magazine. They have a great sound and should enjoy a lot of success in the near future.

803 - Marah - An above-average roots rock band that scored a big hit with "Sooner Or Later".

802 - Margot And The Nuclear So & So's - A brand new indie pop band that I found out about in Paste magazine. They look to have a bright future.

801 - Jesus Jones - A modern rock band that had a couple of huge hits in the early 90's and then faded into obscurity for good.
